RE: Do you like your in-laws' cooking?

My MIL makes a good chili and fried deer meat..............yeah deer meat.  She enjoys making deer meat so much that is all she was going to cook during her last year hosting of Thanksgiving.  But, I took it upon myself to make the traditional Turkey with all the trimmings and take it over to her house.  She takes the easy route and cooks everything in a gallon of grease.............I do not like eating at her house due to the fact she smokes like a freight train and if she finishes a plate of something she will smoke then put her ashes in her plate!!! When ever I must eat at her house I just see ever dish as a potential ash tray!!

Ewww. That's gross. I'm so lucky my FMIL doesn't smoke. My family does, though, it's disgusting.

My FMIL is horrible!

Icon_lolIcon_lolIcon_lolIcon_lolIcon_mrgreenIcon_mrgreenMy mother in law cooks all creamy foods and lots of potatoes with bread type of things. Since I have IBS, i am supposed to be careful a bit with my eating as I face stomach cramps and feel very very bloated.

At first year I had to go every sunday and eat. Then slowly slowly I found excuses to be busy.

I respect how each person cooks, but I DO NOT LIKE her telling me and commenting me on my food, beause i know i cook VERY WELL.
She is very very overweight (i'm not commenting how she is) but her husband now has diabities and it may run in the family. I personally want my husband to be healthier. SHe can't even pass the door with her evil blue eyes and big wild wild breasts.

Once she told me that if she pushed someone, she has so much energy that they would fall. She always tries to say things about others, but i know deep down she means for me and wishes to push me. Because of that, i am now starting karate lesson to give her one hit, she'll fall forever! ha ha hah a!Icon_lolCAN'T STOP LAUGHIKNG!

I actually like my MIL's cooking. One of the only things we agree on, but she tends to use bland seasonings and it's kind of boring.

Life was so much easier when I thought Boys had cooties!

I think so, but I haven't had much opportunity to try it.  DH's family eats out for almost every meal!

RE: Do you like your in-laws' cooking?

My MIL can't cook, although she thinks she can. It is disgusting to even look at her food much less eat it. I also have IBS and she knows it, but does not prepare anything on purpose that I can eat. But, that wouldn't matter, even when she does, I have gotten food poisoning from her on more than one occasion. The last being after a turkey dinner in Oct. I was not in good shape for five days after that. I am glad I bring my son's food with us, even though it pisses MIL off. DH won't admit my cooking is better, but he has also gotten pretty sick off of her food now that he is eating my cooking. The amount of grease, fat, junk food that she prepares is nauseating. Ever heard of something not fried?  We gave her a health grill a couple of birthdays ago so at least she would have the fat drained off of her meats, and it is easier than standing over a frying pan, but I think it has many thick layers of dust on it. She did use it at first, then old habits die hard. I do wish DH would admit to my cooking abilities and even compliment something every now and then, but I have learned that his behaviour has been dictated by MIL and FIL for so long now, I don't think he even realizes. Funny, I really don't remember what attracted me to him at this point, maybe I just didn't know any of the other stuff at first or didn't pay attention. How do I get back to that when MIL is just so nasty. I also make a point of not going to her house. Meal times are at least 2-3 hours later than we were told, just to manipulate everyone. If we go out for a visit (travelling almost an hour each way), I make a point of not staying for a meal, but DH ends up feeling like he needs to and then makes me feel guilty.

RE: Do you like your in-laws' cooking?

Icon_coolIf we ever eat at my MIL, we usually do takeout, well, except for holidays. Last Christmas, my MIL made souse meat, which is basically a hog head boiled until all the meat falls off (and fat and slime), yuck. I think its disgusting, but to each their own. Instead of hanging it in a cheesecloth bag to drain, she put it in a bowl with a plate and a brick on top, and we just watched the grease and slime drain off, and run down the side of the bowl. She was offended when I wouldn't try it, and said, :So you'll eat raw fish (sushi), but you wont eat cooked pig??   I said "that's right!!":) She also throws her raw eggs in with her potatoes when she boils her potatoes for potato salad, because she is too lazy to get another pot out to put them in. does she know where eggs come from??? and that all they do is spray oil on them to get off all that chicken crap?? So, I have learned to NEVER EAT THE POTATO SALAD!!!!!LOL!~

RE: Do you like your in-laws' cooking?

My MIL made her "famous" rice dish for our wedding potluck. It was absolutely DISGUSTING, with far too many mushrooms and far too little of anything resembling edible. Literally NO ONE had any, and we ended up bringing it home. I left it at my ex-husbands, who loves mushrooms, and even HE wouldn't eat it, so we just threw it out.  Blech.
