There is a Maintenance of Parents Act which allows them to seek maintenance from their children if they can prove that they are not able to self-support financially.

My parents-in-law does have a private condominium, so I believe that means they are considered to be able to self-support financially.

Yes I know. It is tough when the old folks just doesn't know their limits. And to make matters worse, she is also a perfectionist, clean freak, suffering from depression and full-time nagger. I have nothing to do with her depression, I believe she got her depression from her husband's infidelities. Now we have to put up with her mood swings and strange behaviours everyday. It is ridiculous.

Hubby and I are looking at relocating to another place, not out of the country though :)
