They ruined our stuff

IL's borrowed some stuff to take on vacation.... I thought it was a bad idea just b/c of them breaking/ruining our stuff in the past but I didn't say anything b/c I hate always being the "anal one" being negative and most of it was DH's stuff anyway so it was his decision....
Well needless to say some of our movies borrowed were eaten by IL's dogs and instead of them 1. telling us and 2. replacing it w/o us having to ask.... they TAPED them back together; doghair; slobber; teethmarks and all.... DH went off on them and hasn't talked to them all weekend and won't answer their phone calls; he said he is sick of them ruining our stuff (he saw the light!)
When dh said something they were like "they are just movies" and when dh continued to yell they looked at me and asked "did they switch his medication" Un no; your dogs ate our stuff!
I swear it gets old!

RE: They ruined our stuff

Hey, maybe you can use this to your advantage!

Have you ever read that story about the woman who borrows a fake pearl necklace and loses it?  She doesn't realize it's a fake so she replaces it with a real one so she doesn't have to fess up that she lost it.  Though...if you tried that you might just end up with a fake pearl necklace taped together and a 'what? what?  we taped it! It's perfectly ok!'

RE: They ruined our stuff

It's very aggrevating; this isn't the first time this has happened; their dogs ate a TON of our stuff when we were wathing them one time; they ate maybe $500 worth of stuff and all I got replaced as a $10 plant.....and it wasn't even the same plant that they had eaten....
They don't care; apparently its "our problem" not theirs; dh said they weren't borrowing anything anymore; I think it was the last straw for him....
Its very exhausting having them in the family; they really drain the life out of you.... glad dh spoke up for himself...and me....very loudly! Let's see how much good it will do though; I'd prefer them not come around for a while.
