gift idea for people that you dont want to buy for but have to

im sure there are many DIL that cant figure out what to buy for the people that are rude to you like MIL & BILs wife. i cant think because i dont care really. But because of the forces that be i must so i dont look like a jerk there for giving (mainly BILs wife) a reason to bitch about me and DH. Ideas would be great please. the olny thing is the gift cant be sarcastic (as much as i would love to give her a dictionary for christmas it might not be the best idea)

you never know which direction SHE is coming from so keep up your defence!

try a purse, its not personal and you can always say you thought long and hard and thought they would love it.
gift certificates to starbucks, barnes and noble
snow globe

personally we arent getting them anything and we know they arent getting us anything either.
every year they have this grab, everyone picks a name, last year didnt go so well with them ruining xmas and all, this year we will be with my family so we told them to leave us out of the grab since we wont be there anyway. I dont think they liked the idea but oh well.

I would go with gift cards too....I'm lucky not talking to them = not having to buy presents...

if presents appear at our door for FH then were sending them back! I already got rid of anything they ever gave us

or a bottle of wine could be nice as well.
we are having a secret santa with my ils as well.
i have fil- which isnt too bad. but fh has bils gf and we wanna get something to replace what is up her arse.
i think we'll get them camping stuff.
but i dont plan to be with them for xmas- i am planning to put the presents in a car before everyone goes down. so then it wont matter too much if we're not there.
xmas for them is an hour an a half drive for everyone, there at a caravan park...as if i wanna go there. we're gonna try and stay there for the night before and then leave b4 the arses get there

lol poorammie, I should get BIL's gf camping stuff too, I know she hates to camp! I should get my SIL gym stuff cause she'll never go there. Funny thing is she got me into going to the gym she was signed up at and she hasnt been there in three months, I know cause today I asked them to look her up and check. Not only that she owes alot of money. Which she always does, if she is not going to use the membership she shouldnt have one.  I go to the gym at least 4 times a week and i'm not in perfect shape but i'm 100% better than her ass. She constantly says she wants to get into shape and go back.  Last time I ran into SILS she was asking them to go with her just as I was walking past. umm wonder why she thought of it at that moment lol. Every few months she says she's going to call me to go to the gym, and I never end up hearing one ring.  Doesnt matter she would slow me down anyway.

RE: gift idea for people that you dont want to buy for but have to

I got my mother this cheap (but looks like I spent more) padded gift box that I have filled with a few tiny knick-knacks found along the way (dollar store figurines, magnets, etc) that I'll wrap separately in their own piece of colorful tissue paper. The whole thing costs less than $10 but looks like more.  After all is opened, it may occur to her that each object is a cheap trinket that means very little. Hrmm...I wonder if that will seem like poetic irony to her?  I'm not getting anything for BIL except a picture of our baby (and the only reason I'm doing that is to piss off my SIL when she realizes she's the only one who didn't get one).

I know, I know, I know....all this negativity is not good for me.  I know I should let it all go, but I could not resist the chance to remind my SIL that she is purposely being excluded from my life after all of her backstabbing ways :(

u may as well let it out mainegirl...especially at the people that caused it. sometimes its worth being over nice and giving her a present of u and hubby would be a good way to have a present for her but be funny at the same time.
we use to give pics, but it was upsetting cos mil would put em aside, then sil and bil got partners and all of a sudden there pics are up.

Dont worry poorammie there are no pics of me and DH up in FIL's house.  We were so tired of everyone else's pictures up and ours off to the side DH just took all his pics after what happened last xmas.

You could try a Visa gift card? That way she could spend it anywhere so maybe she wouldn't be able to complain you didn't get her a gift card to somewhere she doesn't shop?
