page size/window size??

I think the site's content is great but it is hard to read posts because you have to keep scrolling left and right to see the whole thing. I don't really know what that's called or how to fix it. It's like the page is too wide to fit the window.

What's the resolution of your screen?

I use 1280x1024. I just checked it at 1024x768 and it looked fine. I just looked at it at 800x600 and saw some scrolling needed to be made. Most users have 1024x768. Hardly anyone uses 800x600 anymore. The width is set to 900px, which I feel is reasonable. If I decrease it even more, it'll just be a narrow bar down the middle for most.

How large is your screen?

I have a 17" and at 800x600 the letters were huge. Icon_eek

I'll have to play with the settings. Perhaps I can set it at "fluid" width, which would adjust to your screen settings, but that may ruin the overall design for some (images on top of one another, tables all skewed, etc). I'll take a look at it tonight and figure out what are the consequences, if any, of doing this.

RE: page size/window size??

Phoenix, you were right. It was my screen resolution.
It was on 800x600, I guess that was the default because I had never changed it.
So it's not the website. Sorry for wasting your time, but thanks for the help. It is so much better now.

You didn't waste my time. I tested it myself. I'm sorry I should've tested it in various resolutions before I designed it. Eh... like everyone else, I'm still learning.

RE: page size/window size??

I have also had this problem, and I really dislike the really tiny, hard-to-read way my screen looks if I put it at 1024x768.  I'd really appreciate it if you could fix it as well, it's also very irritating to keep scrolling! Thanks!
